The Lord Jesus Christ believes in his Children and never turns his back on them. For people suffering from the disease of addiction to alcohol and/or drugs, it may seem like god is lost to them. Often people who are in active addiction lose the things that were once important to them, such as jobs, family, friends, their homes, self respect and self esteem. People tend to do things they world not normally do while under the influence and this can bring about feelings of guilt and shame. While in this space of personal darkness and depression, it can be hard for a person to change their habits and make a new life for themselves. Christian Treatment Center Missouri uses a Christian Based version of the 12 steps and strives to reconnect people with Jesus Christ to assist those in need on their journey of recovery.
When a person decides that they are ready for treatment, the first step is completing the detoxification program. Detoxification is the process of filtering the toxins out of the body that have been left behind due to excessive usage of alcohol and/or drugs. When a person is accustomed to ingesting chemicals for an extended period of time they become physically addicted to these chemicals and their body is dependent upon them to function. When a person who is physically addicted abruptly stops ingesting chemicals they can go into shock and suffer from withdrawals. Withdrawals may include delirium tremors, seizures, night sweats, muscle aches, nausea and vomiting. Due to the seriousness of these symptoms in is highly recommended that detox takes place under the supervision of licensed professionals like the ones operating at Christian Substance Abuse Treatment. Christian Staff members bring beginning bible study groups into detox to familiarize patients with the word of the lord.

Once patients are cleared through detox they are ready for treatment. A Christian counselor and an Intake Coordinator discuss the different programs offered with the patients and help them decide which one best fits their needs. Inpatient Treatment is for patients best suited with twenty four hour monitoring and constant support from staff members and peers. Outpatient Treatment is for patients who can maintain responsibility of their sobriety while living outside of the facility and attending treatment during the day.
Patients begin their days with a morning devotional group run by a pastor who reads scriptures and helps break down their meaning for better understanding of the words of the lord. Prayer and meditation techniques are suggested to help patients form a connection with god. Church is attending during off campus outings so patients can worship and connect with the Christian Community. The pastor is available for confession upon request, as well as guidance and support.
